Martyn's Law – Self-Assessment

Not yet in force. Martyn's Law received Royal Assent on 3 April 2025 and has an implementation period of at least 24 months, so its duties are not expected to apply before April 2027 – time to understand and prepare for your obligations.

Use this short questionnaire to find out whether your premises or event is in scope of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 (“Martyn's Law”), and if so whether the standard or enhanced tier requirements apply.

The assessment usually takes 2–3 minutes. At the end you'll get a clear result with the reasoning, and you can download a PDF report for your records.

What are you assessing?

A premises A building (or part of a building) that is open to the public — e.g. a venue, hotel, shop, place of worship, school, hospital, leisure facility. An event A specific event taking place at a location — e.g. a concert, festival, conference, sporting fixture, public gathering.
